Is this a true line out? I eventuily want to buy or build a headphone amp that not only will let me boost some frequencies and drive higher impedence cans but make the music sound better. Can I acomplish this through the IMP-400's line out?

I don't believe it is a true line out.

The EQ settings and the volume settings work on the line-out just as they do the headphone out.
