I think it's going to be a little harder than you suspect.

Haha, Ken made it. Sweet! Now, I wonder if this is what we need for the iPod touch.

I'm not too worried about it, I'm sure I'll be able to figure it out. I just got home with an iPhone and am trying to trick itunes into activating the phone w/o actually activating it. I don't want to activate it just yet... (I do have AT&T and will activate it, but I'd rather hold off for a week or two...)

Ken's description of the pros and cons involved using a LOD with the iPhone indicates that, for me, it isn't worth the effort.

For me, the great advantage of the iPhone is its reasonable implementation of feature convergence. The "tap-dance" required to enable the line out is tolerable, but putting the thing in airplane mode is a deal killer.

My E500's sound very nice while listening to music or watching a video on my iPhone.

It's the same for me. While the product is innovative, anything that requires that much work, simply isn't worth it to me. I'm sure for some people it'll be useful but for me, I'd rather use a regular Ipod or DAP for line-out and buy an Iphone just to make calls or use IEMs or earbuds. I don't want to have to jump through hoops just to use the lineout of a 4/8gb player.
