Lighter-Fi (cigars & pipes)

Purchased a relatively nice lighter quite a while ago. The brand of mine is also Prometheus btw. I don't smoke and have never smoked, but after a suggestion from one girl on a bar, got it just to light cigarettes of girls who wanted a light on a bar

(how lame is that... but it's true) This lighter has had much better use in electronics DIY than at bars though.

Combustion is absolutely clean, and this is a powerful little torch.

Here a few pics I just took:

I only use Bics, but I have the most convenient Bic ever. It doesn't have a wheel, just a button, so it pretty much rocks. And I got it in black because black is sleek.

fun tho.

at least the prometheus is refillable.

the only time i use a flame that size is when skynyrd plays "freebird".

While a Zippo is the flame of choice for any fire starting minor, I find the smell too harsh for lighting my cigars. I find that I can smell the fluid from another person's pocket, and it gives me such fond memories of my youth. Ahh.

Nowadays I have a Colibri Trifecta, but I find I really don't break it out except for once or twice a year. It's big and it's impressive, but there's never a big need for it unless I plan on smoking amongst friends.

I'm still amazed at the awesome abilities of a simple Bic lighter. I've sent them through cycles of both the Washer AND Dryer, and was able to spark to full flame the first flick afterward (bonus points for my aliteration.)

I generally carry a Bic or Djeep nowadays just for sheer practicality. They're easy to replace, but also very usable for lighting up a dark basement.

Yelp the best i have used was a Bic, the only time when they don't wanna light is when they are kept in a freezing cold car for long..its takes a few seconds and flicks to get them to light.

I tried the more exotic lighters before but two things stop me from buying and even using them..one is there weight, I don't need a 5lb blow torch in my pocket all day to light a smoke..stupid. second thing is their size, way to big and the look of my pockets while in my pants is stupid...just to big.

I am all in to the flashing the money and stuff but a Bic is a Bic and its good enough for what i need and do. I mean you look pretty stupid for smoking first off let alone spending high money for a flashy lighter to smoke is worse. I rather throw the money on some shoes or a Watch..

nothing against anyone else just for me imo..

Excuse the blurriness, but my camera focused on the phone, my hands are a little shaky, and I didn't feel like fixing it. Anyway, I don't really use this unless I feel like being a pyro.

and billy, don't knock it until you try it. i've been a bic & djeep man for years, but i love to feel of a solid lighter in my hand. it adds a certain elegance to smoking, and can be as rewarding as a good watch. you certainly can spend as much.
