I`ve been looking at getting more battery life out of my D-777 discman. The current 2 x NiMh NH-14WM(A) I use only give me about 4-5 hours.

Would sticking in a couple of Li-Ion gum batteries like the ones from Hi MD walkmans blow up my D-777?

I think I already know the answer because the voltage on my NiMhs are only 1.2v (1350mAh) but the Hi MD battery is 3.7 volts.

Any way to use Li-Ion in a `90s era discman? Thanks.

like you said. you already know the answer. its the voltage. if your voltage is okay, i dont see why not. you will have to take them out to charge and don't use the discman to charge tho. just connect the contacts somehow and you're set.
