Anyone know if they exist for it? It comes with a kak nickel metal hydride (What?) which I assume is nowhere near the quality of an equivalent Li-Ion battery.

Im also wondering if these nickel hydride batteries suffer from the memory effect, unlike the Li-Ion ones because thats also going to make recharging it very irritating.

I have the unit and with the additional dorky battery case attachment at the bottom for the AA, it goes and goes and goes

Not your point I understand. But if you can live with the battery AA case attached, it will go for like 100 hours or so.

Not necessarily - it depends on the battery's capacities. The current NiMH gumstick batteries for MD can supply 1400mAh, while the new Li-ion on the N10/E10 can only supply 340mAh.
