LG G6 Sound Quality

LG G6 Singapore Launch. According to the website, the LG G6 is equipped with the ESS 9218+ DAC. I'm searching across the web but have no information regarding this "+" variant of the ESS 9218. I'm wondering if it is actually the same DAC as the LG V20 or a more improved version.

My guess the 4 DACs will feed the left and right channel independently ..for more separation b/w left and right due to phase difference (owing to path difference)
4 stereo DACs..8 channels ..4 for left , 4 for right ..

i would still hold on to my X1A. i once had both V20 & X1A. V20 still cannot compare against Onkyo X1A. Don't get me wrong. V20 has the best SQ among all mobile phones. However, DAC alone will not help. X1A (and some other specialized DAP) still can win, due to their dedicated circuit and audio board.

Dedicated DSD and MQA support. , dual SD card are where the dedicated DAPs still have an edge over smartphones (bought fiio X5-iii for dual SD card ) ..although G6 n V20 comes with aptx HD as bonus
But take it from a potential buyer who fixated on buying Fiio X7 , months back ..
Dont get me wrong Its the frigging laggy and buggy software in DAPs that made me change my mind..the removable battery was an icing on the cake ..

Agree. Most DAPs seriously need to make their software better, and free from most bugs upon release. i stick with Onkyo, because their software is the best. Free of any serious bugs

This review just made my choice btw LG G6 and S8 clearer for me.

But having said that, I still wonder if s8 audio quality would show a marked improvement from last year's.It is possibe that it may sound as good as the HTC 10. One can only dream,haha.

The HTC 10 was nice, but the v20's SQ was significantly better in quad DAC mode.
 
The G6 sounds roughly the same SQ wise but doesn't have the power. I need the volume up pretty high for my P1s.
