I’ll try:Hello! I recently purchased some S12's and just discovered your mods, and how they seem to align with my own preferences and music tastes! This is very exciting.
Would you happen to have any estimated EQ's on a stock S12 to simulate what your end result physical modding would sound like, so I can determine if I'd want to go through with it? I don't know how to EQ at all and wouldn't know where to start. Thank you!

But try this for size:
While your at it please give this a go, I tried to maintain the overall flavour of the S12 with slight tweaks (the last high shelf is just an experiment at adding air - optional)

Does the iem package come shrinkwrapped? I bought it through Amazon and it wasn’t wrapped in plastic.

@redrol ShortBus sir, as promise, here are my graphs of my modded S12:
Mod 1 is taping the nozzle. Mod 2 is closing the back vent. As you can see, choking the driver drop the mid bass just a touch. It's different from your mod, as you actually opening up the driver by swapping to a less resistive filter, thus more mid bass. Somehow I got confused the last time.
The ear gain seems weird on my graph because my unit seems to have channel imbalance around the ear gain region. One of the channel has ear gain around honk region at 1.5kHz. The other one is correct. I will need to remove the tape and measure again sometimes. Still waiting for tuning foams and filters to open up the S12 and see what else to do inside.
Anyhow, for readers who are curious about this IEM, a fellow basshead head-fier told me that my S12 hits like a good dynamic driver, but with the speed of planar. Resolution is outstanding, edging very close to Andromeda 2020 level. The only problem is the aggressive stock tuning and the messy soundstage due to that tuning. Nothing a bit of micropore tapes cannot fix, though. Highly recommended, especially if you are an audio geek. If you just want everything great out of box, perhaps wait for the next generation of planar with better tuning.

Hey so, I just modded another set and the new one's front vent pinhole was larger than my first one, so when i poked it open, it runined the bass slam, in turn, I added a 300 value damper on the front vent... yikes, I had no idea that would happen. A far as the pinna peak, what does that for me is the small insert, which I AM getting from etymotic foam tip inserts. I was able to get 10 for 11 dollars and that will do 10 sets.
So the only difference with my first pair and this pair is the front vent has a larger diameter requiring a damper. Also talking to Letshouer, my 8k peak isnt really there, its my coupler. Their B&K testing rig doesnt show it at all.

I wonder how much money you have to spend to beat these Shuoer S12 with Azla eartips and a Xduoo link2 balanced.
For my taste i eq a bit on mids and trebles (up)

Modular cable is one thing I wish current Z12 had. That gold and black color scheme looks fantastic. This z12 color are nice too.

I like it too. But the standard S12 is so painfully vanilla that just about any color/flare helps a lot.
