Hi all - havent been able to find much info on the two especially regarding comparisons.

Powering a HD650 which would you prefer?
Lehmann Rhinelander (£360) or Graham Slee Solo Intro (£350)??

Good to come across this :) I have been obsessing about my first amp purchase and I am "this close" to buying the Rhinelander for 348 euros from phonophono. I sent them a mail asking if they can get it for me in black yesterday but they have not responded.

I would love to hear a discussion about this amp and the Graham Slee Solo!

Never heard the Lehmann but I have the Solo SRG with PSU1.
To be honest I don't think the Solo is as good as the 2007 MC version I used to have with the HD650's although it is far better with the AKG K701's.
People used to say that the Solo (pre SRG) was better with high impedance phones now I think it is better with low impedance.

Where do you see the Rhinelander for £360 chris_ah1?

I have the Solo SRG and the Solo SRG-II. IMO the SRG-II has deeper and more impactful bass and it has a wider soundstage. Both are better than the Solo Green of a couple of years ago. Very happy with both although to be honest it is crazy to have so many.

Thanks guys -

I think i am falling down a slippery slope and am also considering the little dot MKVII with that list. Yes, i know its balanced and i only have an unbalanced DAC...but still 400mw SE into HD650 is pretty neato for £350 including tax+shipping.

Then of course there is also the Gilmore Lite too

So:
Slee Novo £230.
LD MKVII: £300ish (includes shipping+duties)
Solo SRG-II 'Green': £350
Rhinelander: £360 to £400. (this is a bit of a ripoff since it was intro'ed at £250!!)

I know specwise however that the LD amp will pump out more than enough power SE or balanced. 800mw+800mW balanced or 400mw+400mW SE!!!

Saw it on froogle somewhere for £360.

First time using Froogle... :-/

"Your search - Lehmann Rhinelander - did not match any products."

just a gentle bumpity bump.

Dad is heading to the US so I can ship a US amp to to his office there.

New list:
Little Dot MKVII (tons of power, balanced upgrade path, cheap...but might be harsh less good SQ)
Lehmann Rhinelander (beautiful sound...but so little info)
Slee solo II (loyal fanbase)
Gilmore Lite ()

Would have loved stello HP100 but too pricey

I currently have a M^3 that has grounding or feedback issues that i havent been able to fix, hence the switch

So, which sounds best with HD650 and/or sony SA5000?

had ld mkv before my solo srg.
ld was a great amp but from my a/b testing ,i preferred the solo. (solo was not burnt in at that point.)
solo is quieter. as in no hiss when vol is ramped up, nothing playing. (at this point i also had hd600's, but sold them as i much preferred the ath-ad2000)
would like to hear the lehmann.
went with solo, due to all positive comments on here and elsewhere.
bought a mascot psu to replace stock unit. ( couldn't justify psu-1 purchase)
LD (David) have great reputation for aftersales service.
best of luck!

dont forget , sennheiser used the Solo to demo their cans .
speaks volumes regarding the GS!

I had Solo SRGII with PSU1 for my office rig and was happy with it. It gave good deep bass and more than decent details and stage. Background was quiet...But that satisfaction was before I switched to Woo Audio3+

P.S. Solo was used as in a demo kit for HD650, while HD800 was paired with Lehmann in many places (although Senn dealer in Thailand went over the top by using SPL Auditor during the lauch of HD800 in Bangkok).
