I am seriously looking at getting a set of Audio-Technica ATH-W1000 cans. What I noticed though that kind of bugs me is the pad material: artificial leather. After going from leatherette pads on lower Sennheiser cans to the velvet pads on my HD600's, I don't think I would like going back.
Can anyone tell me from experience, would the velvet replacement pads from one of the other Audio-Technica products, like the ATH-AD10 work in place of the OEM pads? Or can someone reassure me that the "artificial leather" pads are a big step up from the leatherette pads that come with Sennheiser HD series cans. I just didn't like the noise the pads created rubbing around my ears every time I moved...very disruptive to the listening mood.
Thanks!
