I'm considering a pair of AKG K-10000's, but was wondering (subjectively) how much sound they leaked compared to, say, my current HD-600's?
Regards,
Simon
imagine your small computer speakers turned opposite to you. yup, that damn loud. in fact, if you just put them in front of your monitor, you can use them for speakers too!
on your head, i would say the leak sound much worse than even the hd600, which is hardly isolating itself.
After moving back to Australia most of my stuff is still in storage. I have the Grace amp taking digital out from the PC and the K1000s work very nicely as PC speakers
Thanks for that. I know that the AKG's are designed to leak to provide a natural crossfeed, I was just intrigued as to how much it would bother others in the room. My partner doesn't like the Senns much because she can hear parts of the music in the background, but I am wondering whether she might find the K1000's more bearable because in essence she can hear all the music, just at a low volume. (*Please note, this isn't my main reason for buying them. That really would be silly
I have both the AKG K1000 and the K501. My wife can't tell the difference between the two re) leakage.
One thing to note, however...they leak out AND in. My wife can be typing on the computer two rooms away and I can hear it. Not a problem, IMHO, but be aware of it.
