I have money burning my pocket right now and I am very tempted by the LCD-3 but my time with the LCD-2 Rev1 was so underwelming - overtly smooth, shelved down treble, and small headsatge- that I will need to listen to those before spending that much.
I voted other and would recommend the HE-6 at the moment.

Like the LCD2r2 with the Bottlehead SEX 2.1 and the HD 800's with the 3ch Beta 22.  If I could choose only one setup it would be the Senn HD 800 with the Beta 22

Does the SEX 2.1 put enough power into the LCD2's? My understanding is that it's not powerful enough to make your ears bleed.
 
I'm currently using a Burson HA-160 to drive my LCD2's, but I love the sound of my HD650s with the Crack so I bet a bottlehead + LCD2 combo would be great if the volume was right.

I guess the question is whether or not you actually want to dish out for a pair of $945 headphones, or even $2000. It seems to me a more practical route to buy a high-end DAC and amp that will complement less expensive headphones much better than the LCD-2s and a pair of crappy amp and DAC.
