  If such a "Transport/Streamer" with DSD256 and upsampling comes out from Lampizator, wouldn't they need to upgrade their DACs with DSD as well?  Last I heard they were limited to DSD128 due to the USB input board used.  So having DSD256 in the new product would only be half the story.

I figure he is working on it. The USB is not the limiting factor, I think its the receiver. Also, the streamer would likely be selectable on output to 128 or 256.

Right.  I'm using USB to play DSD256 in both Stereo and Multichannel with the exaSound e28 DAC.  So I know it can be done.

Lastly as much as I want to roll. The way it is voiced is just other worldly as is.
For now it's headphones as my audio room is being renovated it's completely gutted
And will be about 9 feet high by 19 feet wide and about 35 feet deep
It will be a dedicated two channel as well as a separate 7.1 surround with a 65 plasma 3d magnolia series Panasonic
Anyway it's a couple off this out for now.
But when it's done my hope is the lampi will be there.
Two channel speakers are my IRS V.
THE rest is infinity something's from a few years ago with two sets of infinity dual 12 inch sub woofers. It's enough to shake your entire body

"the PCB is the real "level" but there is more to having a real level7 DAC than just digital PCB. We are talking only digital chip part which is like 20 % of the whole machine. 
In head DAC the analog part and transformers and tubes are held constant.
I can only make variable the chipset and digital PSU.
