Yes, then we can all go to the great storage container in the sky.

How much heat do those tubes pump out? - being that bright and allRight now I'm listening to another compatible input tube, the E810F, another high gm pentode with excellent linearity as a triode, very nice sounding tubes and a great alternative to the D3a which is getting very pricey.
I rented a storage unit earlier this week and put a large majority of my tubes and spare transformers in it, they were taking up too much space! Tonight I wanted to try the 6E6P in this circuit, which is also compatible as an input, and for the first time went down the basement and realized they were in the storage unit -_- it won't be the last time.

They are hot! Haven't laid a finger on one, but they're biased around 280V plate to cathode at 55-60mA, so 15-16W plus a 6.3V 1.5A filament, so the dissipate around 25W total. They are rugged tubes though, 30W max plate dissipation and grids that are built for grid current.

It's like your amp should come with a warning not to stare directly at it - like a solar eclipse

Yeah man, those tubes look very rugged.
I would definitely keep my fingers away...they are a tube /light bulb combo!

Just finalized an order through Toroidy for replacement mains transformers for the HY69 amplifier, feel good about the change, probably will get them in mid December! I hate having unfinished projects, so looking forward to truly finalizing this amp.
Seems Aegis was a big hit at CanJam Dallas, always good to hear people like what you like.

You have loads of unfinished projects that you haven't even started. Poor sod, so much hate!
Once I get this HY69 amp done and build my LCR phono stage, I'll really want for nothing in my system. Of course there are always curiosity projects, but there'll be no rush to build those. And by then, the commercial version of Aegis should be on the market, which should occupy some time.

Did you ever receive that Revox cassette deck that you were looking at?

Not yet! In fact I need to reach out to the distributor. It's on the way, but to be honest I'm in no hurry at the moment given there are other projects underway.
After hearing the Aegis this past weekend, I can only imagine how amazing this amp must be. @zach915m I am sure you are in for a treat!I've made all the tweaks and adjustments I'd like to this amplifier, it is done done. The clarity, resolution, and imaging with the Caldera is off the charts. I won't be shipping this beast, going to visit ZMF HQ in a few weeks and drive it to Zach.
@L0rdGwyn you are a Wizard!
