Why would you? The kX drivers were designed for use with the Live/Audigy cards. The 0404 is a whole other card.

Because the 0404 is based on the same processor afaik (the EMU 10k), it should be capable of hardware EAX.

Personally I'd be looking for the performance boost in games.

I am a lot working with changing sample-rates and that is why, I search a better driver: if it doesn´t work, I will get another card.
