Koss UR42i Impressions And Discussion Thread!

I bought a pair a while ago. The sound is pretty good, but the earpads bothered by big ears. I couldn't quite get it to be fully 'over the ear'. So, I purchased some "Tranesca leather replacement earpad/ear cushion/ear cover for big OVEREAR Headphones ( Fits a great variety of headphones) - Black". The part of the pad that goes on the back of the ear is thicker, so I had to figure out which pad went on which cup . With some patience, I was able to get the new pads on the headphones. The pad is thicker, they are angled, and larger on the inner part where my ear goes. Much more comfortable now, my ears fit in the cups! I didn't notice a huge change in sound. I figure for $50 for the phones + $16 for pads, these are pretty good traveling headphones with a lifetime warranty from Koss.

Guys, just want to know If these are good sounding cans.
I am between ur42i and kph30i. Wanted the 42s just for the detachable cable, and It seems to be more durable (but idk).

Need your honest sound comparison between these and kph30i.
If kph sounds way better I will just skip 42s.

Edit to simplify: How does ur42i compares to kph30i, in sound aspects.
