i think i would enjoy the bass though. does it distort easily at higher volumes?

The portapros and 35 can take all the power you have without any distortion. The 75 did distort on my stereo receiver headphone jack that has great power. The quater mod still has the great bass on portapro.

don't get the KSC's. The clip is really fragile, and they tend to fall off while I'm walking.

The Koss drivers should fit in just about any headphone which uses a 40mm or larger driver. And as long as you don't use closed headphones, and they hold the drivers in close proximity to you ears, you should get Porta-Pro-type sound.
