should i get the koss ksc75 or ksc 55? wheres the cheapest and best place to get them, my circuit city was sold out forever (since they were on clearance - never getting anymore)

i currently have px100 but i was wondering if its an upgrade going to these headphones. or anyother cheap pair that sounds fantastic.

thanks

I've had both the KSC75 and PX100 though not at the same time so my recollections could be a bit off. The KSC75 is NOT an upgrade. But it does have a great sound for the price and is a "fun" headphone for pop/rock music. The PX100 has a more detailed and smooth sound. I could never get the KSC75 ear clips adjusted so they were comfortable to wear. YMMV and it may be good for jogging or other active use.

Watch Radio Shack. The KSC75 was on sale about a month ago for about $12. RS seems to put several headphones on sale on a regular basis.

Having both the PX100 and the KSC 75 currently, I agree with everything jclinton said. If you need a cheap back-up 'phone, they are great, but I would not consider them an upgrade to the PX100. I believe Amazon has them for $10 right now if you want them.

KSC-75 has been officially regarded as "Best Bang for The Buck!"...that was before uzziah emerged

Anyway if you could get a good dirt cheap deal on KSC75 off ebay or Amazon, go for it. With current KSC75 price it's very hard to ignore them.

You could certainly try them, but they aren't an upgrade, imo. I have personally enjoyed the px100 more. The clips are always popping off of both pairs of ksc-75 i have, which is annoying, especially since l/r aren't labeled.

If you do happen to buy KSC75's from RatShack, be advised that you'll likely end up with the version that has the inline volume control, which I don't like as it adds extra weight and "tugs" on the earphones. I ordered several pairs from Amazon, and they don't have the inline volume control.

Comfort is great with KSC75, while the PX100 is too flimsy and has a cheapy plastic feel. Walking outside with the KSC75 doesn't do it justice, it's a headphone to listen at home, in a quiet environment. I liked the PortaPro better for walking outside, cause of the bigger bass, but still an IEM is preferred for isolation. I didn't actually listen to the PX100, but I guess it's not better as it's bigger brother HD555 (which I owned), cause I liked my KSC75 over this latter one.

Bought them at e-Bay from this seller: gr-griant for a total price of €18. Arrived within 5 days.

Sonically, there is no need for a Koss when there's already the (slightly better) PX100 in possession.
