Klipsch X5 vs. Etymotic HF5

What about the tips, though? I've got the Klipsch X5's and I think the gels are really comfortable. I have had some Ety earplugs with tri-flange tips and they were VERY uncomfortable -- I could never use those for earphones. I know ears vary, but that was my experience.

Hello!
Interesting review, I'm glad I was able to find this thread because I currently have Shure SCL2's which are dying due to cable break. I was interested in the Klipsch X5's (since I also have a pair of ProMedia 2.1's which are great speakers) but after reading this review, it sounds like HF5's are the winner. My question (for the Cannuck readers around here) is where in Canada can I order Ety's? and approx. price at this time for HF5s? I found them at amazon.com for $129USD, but can't seem to find Canadian retailers.

I can chime in for the X10 vs HF5 as I have used both.

I really enjoyed the X10, but the HF5 are the winner in my book.

X10 is more bassy and gives you more of a hip-hop, bassy feel. Of course, they are not IEM so this is to be expected. Much more of a sound signature to them, like Bose earphones.

They both fit very similarly, if one fits well then the other will likely as well.

HF5 has much better clarity and mids and highs.

Overall, both are great. If you want more of a hip-hop, bassy earphone then go with the X10. If you prefer a more IEM, clarity mids and highs first, with still an OK bass, then go with HF5.
