A friend of mine told me i could use an amp on the GMX, would that be of any use at all? He said it'll boost the sound a whole lot, lol but i always thought that since my speakers already had an integrated amp, is there even a need for the 'extra' amp? It's not like i listen to my music damn loud too. Opinions from the experts here?

No you don't need to amplify twice, it will make it sound worse.

Having said that I use pa2v2 headphone amp to act as a preamp (my father suggested), my initial thought is it would sounds worse but it actually makes it sounds a little better (more detail, less hissing). I never use any amp on top of the integrated amp on this speaker though
