I was fiddling with my foobar setting and when I use Kernal Streaming, I notice that at the "post processing" section they ask me to select the output data format. Should I be using the 16bit or the 24bit?

Another question: If I am using KS, should the wave output column in my patchmix (I am using an EMU 0404) be showing any level?

Thanks!

i dont use emu cards (anymore) but the patchmix should be showing wave level.

as for the audio bit. well emu card can output 24bit, so for optimal audi resoution choose 24. although regular audio music are encoded in 16bit so you shouldnt be gaining anythign from that.

Wow! Just hooked up Kernel streaming with Foobar for the first time, and the difference is unbelievable! As I go back and forth between KS and directsound here the difference is clear each time: KS sounds much more open, with extended treble AND bass. The bass is much more articulate than before, actually making my $200 sub musical instead of one-noted.

I've played with ASIO and winamp before, never getting good results. Glad to see KS is a different story.
