has anyone successfully accessed their karma through their ethernet port? (more helpfully, on a *nix machine?)

I unplug my network cable, bring down eth0, plug in the karma, try to bring eth0 back up and then it never does...

I use my Karma almost exclusively this way- for it to work properly, you will need to connect both devices to a hub or switch, or use a crossover cable.

You will also need to either have a DHCP service running on your network, or manually assign the Karma an (otherwise unused) IP address in the same range as the host machine.

You will need a Java VM installed on the host, and you can connect to the Karma with a web browser to download rmmlite.jar from the Karma. This can then be executed by typing 'java -jar rmmlite.jar' from the command line.

It's also possible to download a later version of rmml from the developer's website- check around on the Riovolution forums for the link.
