Fewtch have you ever considered cleaning your existing ears?

Maybe we should close it pre-emptively?

Still early with the K701s, but the HD650s have about 70 hours burn in, compared to the K701s 10 hours. At this point I like the full bodied sound of the HD650 as opposed to the light sound of the K701s. I plan on keeping both though, two good headphones for different sound. The K701s are kind of loose though.

If you hadn't quoted JayGee and his insults/flaming/personal attacks, there might not have been any. If you didn't know he was on my ignore list, I forgive you. If not, I'll be happy to slap you in there along with him. Please do let me know.

Edit -- on second thought, into it you go, as you seem to want to wreck the thread for your own personal enjoyment (just a strong feeling). Don't bother to reply, I won't see it.

P.S. I noticed whoever said the DT880 would get up on the scoreboard was correct... should have thought about the fact that the poll was brand new at that point.

I find little fun or lightheartedness in JayGee's posts (or in "x vs. y" type threads, for that matter). When the subject matter and people involved are fun, I'm as easygoing as the next fellow.

P.S. so what was it that happens if I insult your K1000s?

Hopefully, he wouldn't attach his ego to his possesions and he would think you silly for thinking you could hurt him by attacking a material item.

You'll have to ask Jude. He made that tag line up.

It was a play on my last name obviously. FWIW, although I very much like my k1ks, I prefer the 701 for most things.

Remember grasshopper, you are not your headphones.

Loose as in they don't clamp your head tightly, or loose as in the bass sounds loose?

They don't clamp tightly, that kind of loose.

i'm not really qualified to vote as I have only listened to DT880 for a few minutes. But between HD650 and K701, I must say, for most recordings I prefer HD650 for its lushness and smoothness. K701 midrange sounds recessed, and i get listenning fatigue from the K701's bass which for some reason feels strong but very "strained". However, foobar crossfeed greatly helps reduce the listenning fatigue... bass becomes more natural to these ears. With crossfeed, it's hard to say which one i like better.

I have the three headphones in the poll. Bought the HD650 and the DT880 in 2004, the K701 in November 2005. All are well-used, with the AKGs nearing 500 hours.

My vote goes to the K701.

I've heard the DT880 and HD650. I'll refrain from voting until my K701 arrive.. soon

How come some poll show who voted what, but this one doesn't? It make it easier to identify "rogue voters".

I got my AKG K701 for $310, not including the huge tax, and the $5.00 shipping.

Guitar Center...lol you could hack Google, set up the price of the K701s to be $250 on the front page, and they'd still take it.

Of course though, honestly is the best policy
