Hello everyone!

I have a pair of 701's, driven by a beauty ZD amp. I'm wondering if these cans are worth recabling and if so, with what cables/technician? I'd love to know your recommendations.

In the recent Maryland meet I heard a pair with a Darkvoice amp. It was a really good match. I used to own the stock 701 and found them excessively fatiguing. I didn't feel this way with the recabled ones, albeit the listening session was short. But honestly, it was evident. How much of that was the combination with the Darkvoice, I don't know. The owner was Nautikal and IIRC, he bought them already recabled. I don't know what cable was used or who did it. HTH.

So, in short, it may be very well worth the shot.

Headroom claims as much too. Me...I haven't heard these modded or unmodded, but I tend to think it's giggles to mod things just for the sake of seeing what happens.
