Just buy a mannequin head to break them in with. I had the biggest head in both my graduating class in high school and graduation from college. My dumbass cap wouldn't stay on for either. There is no need to maim your K701, just break it in with a dummy head.

The upper brace seem to be glued on, why don't you try loosen it and shift it up a little bit? This way you don't "break" anything, and the brace remains on the band, along with the serial.

If you permanently change your K701 you will regret it if you are anything like me. I'm telling you, it will stretch with the proper encouragement.

yeah, you were right. I did it, I regret it like hell. I scratched almost all the grey thingies when detaching the braces. I feel kinda ****ty now, and it's not supremely more comfortable. Perhaps it'll be better with time? (Both psychologically and physically?) I just feel like a perfect idiot. As a matter of fact I feel like it affected the sound signature for the worse!!! I know it doesn't make sense. damnit

Well, I feel better now. Takes time to adjust to the fact that my headphones aren't in all their visual glory, but I can live with it now. The still sound the same.
