James, I can tell you my K601s sound great with my Original Electronics Master headphone amp (solidstate) if that helps any. But I wouldn't bet against a good tube amp either.

quick question,

would my Meier Audio 2Move drive the K601 good?
I'd like the K601, but I'm afraid that the 2Move can't drive it.

I've had the K701, which I found very nice but too power hungry. Though I had the 2Move not at that time.... and since the K601 is its little brother......
