Assuming the K601's get reviewed positively, I'l be picking up a pair of those as soon as I finalize my digital piano purchase. I've chosen those because they fare well with classical music and piano, and that's the brunt of what I'll be using it for. The other part would be games, and I'm hoping that the AKG's do well in that respect.

I'm planning on purchasing a HR Micro Amp to go along with the K601 sometime down the road.

My current and only source (besides the piano which holds its own) is a laptop with the Audigy 2 Notebook card. I do plan on purchasing the Micro DAC, but it will come after the Micro Amp purchase.

Questions

1) How much of an improvement will I see given just the Micro Amp plugged into the Audigy 2 notebook? It's feasible right?

2) Once I pucrhase the matching DAC, I'll listen to music through the DAC + Amp, but I'll continue to play games through the Amp + Audigy 2. Is this logical or should I play games through the DAC + Amp combo too?

3) How portable is the "stack" as a whole?

Thanks in advance for your replies.
