hey, we're all addicts in one way or another. could be a lot worse than a funky looking headphone!

I'm convinced that any simple circuit, low power amp is worth a shot with the K1000. I would love to try some tube amps like the WA5. I really like that there is a selector just for the K1K on the front.

Come down to Florida for a meet and you can try mine. It's even better now that I have the Western Electric 300bs.

I think F1 or F2 are better bets (than F3) for the K1000 due to their current driven design, and the K1000 screams for current (afaik). I'm building an F2 and will be using a Beta22 preamp that I'm almost done making.

X2 I like the Aleph and F1 with the K-1000s. I even liked the ASL AQ1001DT integrated tube amp for it. The Sig 30 sounds like a winner too as far as pricing that's not off the charts like the *cough* Zanden.

yeah, sometimes you can go overboard...especially with the k1000s.
But then again, I pretty must listen to my k1000 every night (something I've never done before even with the he90s) and have never regretted getting the zanden amp. So if there's any headphone that deserves this degree of commitment, whether you get a tube amp or a firstwatt Fx...it's this one!

Well the F1 arrived but unfortunately the transformer came loose along the way and wreaked havoc to the capacitors inside the amp. Thanks FedEx. Off it goes to Nelson Pass for repair.

Sad news Canman...here's hoping Nelson'll get it back out to you relatively quickly.
