I have a chance to get my hands on a s/h AKG K1000. I have high expectation from the K1000, but knowing that my MPX3 cannot drive it to extremes I was wondering if my stereo integrated amp ( i.e. Rogue Audio Tempest II ) could do the job.
My question is: Has anybody auditioned the K1000 driven by a Rogue amp or similar tubed amps ?

Thanks

I've used my K1000 with a Sophia Electric EL34 tubed integrated, a pair of ASL Wave 8 amps, and an ASL AQ1001 DT integrated. The Sophia and AQ1001 DT did the best job of the three. If you have the amp already, just hook them up and see for yourself.
