Hi,

I bought a used AKG K1000 two years ago and I'm very happy with it, except that the isolation of the cable directly attached to the headphone is peeling off at various spots, displaying the two individual cables for the two channels.

As this cable can only be replaced by someone knowledgable, what is the best way to repair the cable, without having to cut the cable and resolder a different cable (which I'm not good at)?

Thanks

After 16 years of use I had the same problem. I simly pulled the wires a little apart and insulated them individually with tape. It doesn´t look very good but it´s still the easyest way to repair. At least it will not cause a short in the connected amplifier. Better solutions are a lot more expesive than what the K1000 had cost alltogether.
