Erik, without a doubt, I will get a proper amp for the K1000 supposing I go for it. I definitely don't want a high-end headphone that's being hindered at any component. Thanks for the concern though! Also, considering that you've had a brief run-in with the K601, whether or not you've had a chance to appreciate the organic real-life-melodic sound or not, do you feel that the K1000 sounds similar but upsized, or is it a whole new kind of sexpot?
If anyone has listened to both for an extended period of time, I'd appreciate if I could get a definitive idea of whether or not they share that refreshing melodic characteristic or if the K1000 is more true to life with a classic monitoring sound.
