I just received a second/back up pair of K1000's from Austria. Weird thing is, there is no serial #. There is a place for the serial #, but it's missing on both sides. Another interesting thing, I have what seems to be an original K1000 manual that came with it, it's in several languages....are all original K1000 manuals written in several languages? On the back of the manual, on the last page in the bottom right-hand corner, there is what seems to be the year 1993. I am wondering if this pair of K1000 could be from that year? Unfortunately, no wooden box came with these.

Any of you K1000 owners with original manuals, can you check the back page of your manual to see if the date corresponds to your appx. date of your K1000 serial #? Thanks!

Short time ago I was asking the same question up here, cos had seen one pair on Ebay, which didn't had a serial number as well. While the seller was sure of originality of K1000, people were a bit skeptic.
Those I have seen were also from Austria, I think. Just wonder if they are not the same.

Here some pics from the seller

My K1000 (serial number 05205) has "August 89" on the back of the manual that came with it. As far as I can make out from my schoolboy grasp of foreign languages, my manual is entirely in German. This would make sense, with AKG being an Austrian company.

It would be interesting to hear from a few more K1000 owners from around 1993 to see where the serial #'s are appx. in regards to that year.

looks like the serial and the tag has been taken off purposefully. i dont think those plastic tags come out easily or can fall off by them selves with time. maybe the seller has something to hide? as long as it sounds good then there shouldnt be much problem i guess...
