Hello, thanks for reading/responding to my inquiry ahead of time. I am brand new to the forums.

I am looking for a potential upgrade/exploration into another brand/type of IEM after the cushions on my JVC HA-FX35's have started to wear down. Even though I plan to purchase additional replacement cushions (likely the Comply T400 cushions, but other reccommendations are welcomed), the idea of exploring other IEM's has me curious.

Speaking of the JVC HA-FX35's, I have to point out that they have been a fantastic product for me for the last 5+ years. They have endured drops, weight room use, tugs, and me partially stepping on them a few times (not realizing they had fallen on the floor). I have experienced the following other IEM's: zune premium earphones (I actually found the increased range of treble with these highly distracting and a crucial flaw), standard zune earphones, iphone earphones, the lesser/crappier JVC marshmallows sold for around $10 at wal mart, and Bose Quiet Comforts, and it is my opinion that the FX35's beat them all in all areas considered. These include isolation, ease of application inside the ears, and sound quality.

Having said this, it is difficult for me to imagine a better IEM, but I encourage you guys (preferrably those who have experience with FX35's as well as other IEM's) to provide me with other options in the $100 or less price range.

I listen to primarily metal, including death metal, black metal, sludge, thrash, doom. And also rap, indie rock/pop, psychedelic rock/indie music, old school/classic rock.

Lots of good headphones to choose in this table of IEMs: http://theheadphonelist.com/headphone-list/. Make/model names link to reviews. :)
