Nice start to the day today - got an email telling me that I won a pair of HD650s in a competition I entered a while back. Made my day !!

I currently use a Little Dot II (non plus model with 1K2 tubes) with my Goldring DR150s. Is the Little Dot likely to sound OK with the HD650s or should I think about an amp upgrade? I have always fancied a MF X-Cans V1 or V2 would this sound good with the HD650s.

Also I feel that the stock HD650 cable will not be long enough for me. Are there any options for the HD650s if you want a cable around 4 to 5 metres long?

Wow! That's the best price I've heard of yet, for these cans!
Enjoy!
P.S. -- free cans have the best SQ....

Congrats dude! Yeah, Little Dot should take you quite far enough. Tube amps are generally good at handling headphones that require more voltage gain than current.

It was a contest on a UK website from an accessories dealer called CableZoo. You had to find the bogus product in their product range and once I done that they must have pulled my name out of the hat!

Not bad for 10 minutes work!

Anyone got any suggestions for a UK available 5 metre cable for the HD650s? My
sofa is too far from my Little Dot for the stock 3 metre cable.

Congrats on the win! Try it with your current system first and see how you like it. If things go well, save your money for music. Otherwise, looking to upgrade the amp first.

Make sure you do a comparison with the DR150

Wow, talk about luck there! I never feel lucky enough to even enter any contest. Let alone getting a runnaway win much later!

Good luck with your free phones!
