Airing cupboard is best.
If turned on when it gets wet, turn it off, maybe dissasemble it and put it in an airing cupboard for a week or more. Make sure the pieces and boards are totally dry before putting back together and turning on.
If turned off when put in water or not live (eg earphones) you have much more of a chance of them surviving of course as nothing will have shorted out when hitting water, but still leave them/it to dry in an airing cupboard for a week or more before attempting to test.
