This just popped up in the Sony NW-A30 thread here: http://www.head-fi.org/t/815843/new-sony-nw-a30-series/1230#post_13333647

A brand new member makes this statement in his very first post:
"The aluminum chassis of A30 is also a point worthy of mentioned as it lowers the impedance of the player, providing better highs."

To make matters worse, the A30 series has a plastic chassis....

While that statement does ring my bull-meter, after some googling, it would seem as though the NW-A30 series does have an aluminum case (that someone on amazon mentioned dropping 2 feet and denting). Are you certain you're not reffering to the NW-A3000 having a plastic case?

To be clear, the nw-a30 series in that thread refers to the NW-A35 and NW-A36.

the casing to impedance relation is BS. probably some confusion with the marketing nonsense about the battery cable that is so often advertised to lower impedance(for the battery only and nobody cares!!!!!!!!!!!) compared to what I imagine to be the absolute worst battery wire ever used.
but I'm yet to see a sony DAP with actual low impedance.

Yes, I own the NW-A35. It is plastic.
