After searching and reading all that I could in this forum (way more than enough info to get going) I bit the bullet and ordered the 255's and 325i's. I just couldn't make up my mind sight-un-heard so I'm going to test drive both and decide on one or the other.

My only experience with Grado's so far has been the SR60's. I really like these cans - they're just fun. Kind of like an over the ear version of my Super.fi 5 Pro's only a little more rolled off on both the highs and lows - but anyway I digress.

Thanks Head-Fi for all the info on both cans.

Should be a fun weekend!

Congrats.

Just remember two things (which you may already know):

New Grados need burn-in before they sound their best. After 40+ hours and they really begin to come into their own, There are more subtle improvements after the initial 40 hours or so, but you will notice a dramatic improvement in that first 24-48 hours.

Second is that pads make a great difference with Grados. Try reversed bowls. flats and modded Senn pads on them in addition to the stock bowls to see which you prefer once they've broken in.

Good luck and happy listening.
