The ATH-M50 are rated at 38ohms and my current Senn PX100 are 32, which are easy enough to drive so I am thinking i won't need an amp for them?

Also, how much break-in time do they require?

Any other comments about them?

You should be ok w/o an amp for short periods due battery power. They sound much better through an amp.
Break in period is approx 5-10 hours depending on methods used.

Thanks - yes the iPod drives them easily enough, even with the EU volume limit.

Certainly sound better after 10+ hours
