Heh, yet another another Xin SuperMacro thread.. but I swear, this time it's different!

I've pretty much read every post concerning the SM and was frustrated by the lack of pictures

Gregor supplied me with some relief, emailing me a couple pictures of his Black SM. Still, I wanted to see pictures of the anodized aluminum case since that was what I was planing to order. SOOO I hope these pictures I'm posting will help other 'fiers who are in the same boat. enjoy,

- Justin

This SuperMacro: AD8610, 2x BUF634 buffers. Sounds incredible.

I recently tried the AD8610's again. They do sound very good. I am not sure which I prefer, the 8610 or the 627. It is nice to be able to roll the op amps.

Edit: I do notice that there may be even more bass control with the 8610 or it may be more linear than the 627 as there seems to be more detail and decay.

I like the volume control on your SM.

From left to right:

1) Power
2) Impedance (0/75 ohm)
3) Amplification gain (5/15 dB)
4) Bass boost (0/10dB??)
5) Crossfeed (off/on)

by the way, up is on and down is off.

i just rolled in some 627 BP op amps into my friend's SM - SO much better than the stock 124s in there! the bass boost actually does something now, and everything is more smooth yet still detailed. great lil amp!

I should be getting the black one by the end of the week. I already have the silver one.
I can email similar picture to noname, and he can post it up again

I'm not really familiar posting pictures on headfi.

You made me regret not getting all that switches for mine

Actually all i wanted was the bass boost switch. But i didn't feel like paying $50 bucks for it. Would you tell me if there is a significant improvement? Thanks!

If you are using Etymotic, Bass boost would help a lot, making the sound warmer and thicker. I don't really like the bass boost when listening to my Bose Quiet Comfort1 and HD600, it sounded bloated, muddy and unbalanced I think.

Here's a couple pictures of my black SM from the Portable Rig thread in the Portable Audio section. The lighting's not that great and I was trying to include my iRiver in the picture too, but here they are...
