Hey long time no see. I have been out of the headphone game for a while but I decided to go ahead and buy some decent cans and these AKG k271 mkIIs are pretty sweet sounding. However I have a problem. Even with my Emu 0404 USB dac driving them the volume is just not as much as I would like it. I suppose it is ok. I can enjoy the music. But when I listen to something a little heavier or energetic I tend to blast the music. yeah I know it is bad for my ears but I do not do it often and when I am in the mood I just love blasting music into my head. anyways I figure a headphone amp is what I am in need of... I am not exactly swimming in dough right now so I was hoping there would be a solution that is under 200 dollars for my desktop setup. any suggestions would be great guys.
my tastes are simple. rock/pop/metal/punk/electronic/etc so as long as there is a decent volume boost without losing quality or adding some sort of hissing/noise then anything is ok.
