Just found a Ensoniq AudioPCI sound card

Those cards are really old (like from the late 90's). You can do much better than that today. If you have already bought it you may as well pop it in and take a listen, and run RMAA on it.

I used to have one of these on my old P166 machine. These were the last Ensoniq sound cards before Creative bought them out. It was a decent card for the day. Unless you're getting this card for free, and your current card is garbage, its hard to compete with the AV710 which you can get for ~$20.

I just put it in my second system for basic sound. And I have had the AV-710, and wasn't impressed by it. It was OK for music, but seemed to lack hard bass punch, and for gaming, forget about it! I went back to my Realtek onboard audio.

Yea, the Audio PCI card is pretty ancient by computer standards. I had one back in 1997 or so. It was an upgrade then, but probably not now though lol

Even if you don't like the sound of the AV-710, you could save up for a DAC and use the card as a transport
