OH. MY. GOD.

The lowdown.
The crowd was pretty small. Maybe about 5000+ or so?
DT came in and started on time. They played quite a few numbers from their latest album, systematic chaos. When they hit the 3rd number or so it started pouring but the crowd got even more pepped up. It was such an experience.
Listening to the cd vs the real thing. I'm a bassist so half the time I was looking at Myung's hand. Wow, hes fast...too damn fast. John and Jordan's solos were AWESOME. When they played dance of eternity, I shed a little tear in my eye and thanked the heavens I was there watching DT LIVE.

Pictures are up at my flickr account. Credit goes to That dude of HF, Morjuken05, Amaka and gr3y of SOFT (singapore's local music forum).

I love DT live. When I saw them Myung didn't get a bass solo though. Nobody does drum or bass solos anymore

Do they do any "trains of thought" album songs?
I personally dislike the new album and the previous album "Octavarium"

they played quite a fair bit of systematic chaos.
they also played about a song or 2 from every album they released.
we were standing there in the rain for like for a total of nearly 3 and a half hours. headbangin and rocking out to every damn song they played, singing along.

what a rush.
i'd say the rain helped. im sitting here at work still pretty much in awe.

I believe they only played part of "In The Name of God" from ToT.
Nothing from Awake either, which I felt was a little disappointing.

The new album is really growing on me now though, especially since the gig made me realise that most of the songs lend themselves really well to being played live. "Forsaken" really got the whole crowd singing

LaBrie's voice was pretty good on the night, and the mixing/sound quality was better than previous concerts at that particular venue IMO.
