I've got a pair if LCD-x cans, IE800 iems and an AK120. The IE800s sound great out of the AK120 but I feel as though a desktop DAC& combo would benefit the LCDs.
Ideally I would like good clarity, instrument separation, soundstage and bass, though not overpowering.
The short list is:
Burson conductor SL 9018 or 1793
Audio GD NFB-28
Yulong DA8
Oppo
Dangerous source
Budget is $800-$1300US and needs to ship to australia.
I stand to be corrected but I think anything from violectric with a decent DAC is going to be out of the price range. Not too interested in schiit. Amp must be class A solid state. No tubes. If the DAC is seperate from the amp I'd prefer they be from the sane manufacturer and stack well.
I would consider used but not many of these type come up.
I have no way of demo'ing any of these units, so I'm keen to hear everyone's thoughts.
