A month or two I had an accident and the Gym and busted the hdd on my HD30GB9. I made a thread about it here before the forums went down and everything and I just wanted to let people know that I was able to fix it by swapping the hdd out with an identical one (Toshiba MK3006GAL) that I bought on eBay for $55.
It took all of 5 minutes to do and it works perfectly now. Just letting everyone know in case they experience the same thing I did.
And just before anyone asks if it would be possible to upgrade the HDD to a higher capacity. I think you could but they don't make an affordable one that would fit it. There is a mysterious 40gb toshiba that would work but I couldn't find it for under $200. If they ever make a larger capacity hdd I'll be the first to try it out because I love this DAP!
