Just a quick question,

I've bought the Little Dot I+ amp mostly to complement my sr60s (soon to be replaced with sr225) but I have been considering exploring the senn sound with the HD600 but I dont want to buy one if its not going to sound good with this amp anyways. Your humble opinion please

?

Also if this wouldn't work/would sound terrible in your opinion, can you recommend a senn headphone that would sound better with it? I still want that smooth silky dark senn sound--the closer to hd600 the better.

Best off with a MKIII or IV for Senn 600/650's...you need the full tubey goodness for them to really sound great.

but would it sound terrible? Can't afford a more expensive amp and don't want to go through the hassle of returning the amp (international

i guess its also a question of impedence, like I know the hd650 would not be driven effectly by the little dot I+ due to its impedence of 300 ohms... does the hd600 have a lower one? also anything else that would matter?

HD650 and HD600 both have 300 ohms.

Though HD600 only have max power input of 200mW, while HD650 has 500mW.

And about driving higher Ohm headphones with the I+, I guess it´s not optimal, but looking at the specs the I+ only have around 30mW less in 300/600 Ohm than the Mk5, which many are using for their HD650s.

I have actually tried the HD650 with my I+, yet for a short listen. But I couldn´t really identify that it did anything really "wrong". As said maybe not optimal, but for the money I think damn good.

Nay, Don't do it. Just tried it mith my HD650s and it just doesn't cut it! Go for the MKIII if you are thinking of HD600/650 models. The I+ is optimized for low impededance phones like Grado or perhpas certain AKGs and Denons ...
