I find the design of this dac interesting, has anyone come across this before?  He has a kit available.

Well, the attention to detail in the number of power supplies is certainly impressive, and I am sure it has a considerable effect on the sound quality.  I have to say it's pretty crazy to be using 200 and 300 VA transformers for the analog section, but he has his reasons I guess.

The info on his site about capacitors and vibration damping(and the fact that he is not using some exotic, expensive materials to do it)  is also very good.

One thing I've always wondered, is there data to suggest that lots of simple linear regulators sound better than a single well done shunt regulator?  I can understand that seperate power supplies isolate different sections of the circuit but shouldn't a good PSU design be able to offer cleaner power?
