Actually I really didn't have to track down the HP-1's at all. These are the same phones that got me all wound up about this model in the first place - listening to my good buddy's phones a month or so ago. It never dawned on me that he might consider selling them; so I went about trying to get a pair myself. When he mentioned to me that he was trying to accumulate some extra money to buy a digital camera, I made my move. The timing was right; otherwise I'd probably have missed the opportunity!

That's very resourceful of you. What are you going to use to amp them?

I just plugged them into the phone jack of my McIntosh C31V Preamp. I've heard the phones through the Grado amp at my friend's house; but I really think the sound through the McIntosh is every bit as good. I may not have to do anything else!

Oooops! No digital camera in the house at the moment. I'm waiting for the Panasonic G1 HD to come out! Got rid of my last Leica - a Digilux 2.
