Usually it takes a week or two to make the custom phones to your specifications and then he usually ships them to be received in a few days. Since you are in NY as JM is they should arrive relatively quickly. I would contact John to determine drivers and tuning. You will love these phones as others have.

Don't be shy in the end if you are not 100% happy. John will work with you until it's right for your preferences. It is a fun process!!! Like no other out there that I know of.

I went to the review section for XTC Open and saw 2 of my friends from the site here had written reviews. I dont know how JM Audio got passed my eye after all these years. I am just so excited.

First one he made and tuned for me. I explained him my preferences in sound signature. I'm not analytical guy, flat graph headphones sounds boring for me, so we decided to start with bliss tuning with bass+. I do prefer crispy airy highs and full body sound with sub bass extension as well. However this doesn't mean to be dark just right balanced.
John name this set "The Fire Within".
Here is what he said about them:

The thing that impresses me most about JM is his tuning acumen. Just tell him what type of sound you prefer and he nails it first time. For the life of me I cannot figure out how he does it but there it is.
