JH Audio Angie sound flat and muffled???

Used on an iPhone 6. Without a dac (straight out of headphone jack) it sounds rather limited in soundstage and highs. Also does end-up with a channel (or both) cutting out at certain position of the 3.5mm connector. Tried it with Chord Mojo, Dragonfly Red, Oppo HA-2/SE and all sounded great. Perosnally went with the Red for portability. Best portable setup imo.
