I have a friend in Japan right now and he checked on a couple prices on Audio Technicas for me. He got some decent quotes, but neither of us is sure if tax is included. How does pricing work in japanese stores? Is it like the US where tax is calculated in at the end or is it like in Europe where prices have to include the tax already?

Help is much appreciated. Need to educate the dumb here.

Why doesn't your friend just ask the store whether the quoted price includes taxes and other charges?

Cause he's a busy guy and just stopped by the store. He'd be kind enough to go back and pick them up when he comes back in april. Plus he's also not the brightest bulb
