Any Head-Fiers into Jandek? It was a strange discovery for me years ago as a college radio DJ. Never failed to puzzle listeners. Something of a challenge for headphone listening too, but hauntingly bitter-sweet and for me hard to resist.

There is an independently produced documentary about the man, Jandek on Corwood.

I've read about Jandek... I havn't listened to much, but there is a reason for that. A little too out there for me. "Unmusic" is an interesting area, music that isn't quite music at all.

I hope reading about Jandek doesn't keep you from listening to him! For samples go to Aquarius Records and keyword Jandek. Try samples from different records/time periods. He has 35 or so releases since the late 1970s and the entire catalogue is reissued on CD. Folk, blues, and DIY chutzpah are all part of the Jandek sound.
